A VALUABLE INNINGS.—V. Pollard cover drives in the New Zealand second innings in the third test at Lancaster Park which ended in a draw on Monday. Pollard played a valuable part in the second innings; he came to bat when New Zealand’s fortunes hung in the balance and stayed in a record fifth wicket partnership of 110 runs with B. F. Hastings, until New Zealand was out of trouble.
