Filly To Try For Record
Arrangements are being made for an attempt on the New Zealand record for one mile by a two-year-old trotter. The attempt will be made by a filly by Lumber Dream from Russley Maid, trained at West Melton by J. D. Litton for Mr M. Tanabaum, of New York.
The present record of 2:8 2-5 was established by Westland King in 19M. Westland King was trained by Litten. The Lumber Dream filly will probably make her run at trials at Addington Raceway on April 17 or May 15.
