N. Canterbury Teams Named
Two former Canterbury representatives have been selected in the North Canterbury team to play Southland in a replay off their Hawke Cup elimination match at Rangiora on Saturday and Sunday The first game in Invercargill was affected by rain and was drawn.
The team is:—S. J. Blakely (captain) A. F. Rapley, P. R. Rutherford, P. Williams, S. Ryan, G. Stone, W. Newton, D. Mcßae, P. McKay, P. Johnston and R. C. Merrin.
A North Canterbury XI to play Marlborough on March 29 and 30 is:—K. Shipley (captain), A. Wall, P. Cornish T. Bailey, K. Lindsay, G. Cowper, N. Coates, L. Rennie, R. Mcßae, E. Barclay and T. Turner.
Tour Manager.—The president of the Amateur Athletic Association (Mr A. O. Melville) has been appointed manager of the New. Zealand athletes to compete in the South African Games, beginning on March 29.
