FIGHT TO BE HELD

T. George In Good Shape

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. The New Zealand featherweight boxing champion, T. George (Auckland), is expected by his trainermanager, Mr R. Grimmer, to be in “good shape” for his forthcoming bout against the Australian, C. Russell, for the Australasian title. “He has missed some training because of having influenza but now he is in pretty good shape,” said Mr Grimmer.

The fight will be held in Wellington on Thursday, March 27. Originally scheduled to be held eight days earlier, the match was put back to allow George time to recover from a bout of influenza which cost him six days’ training. Russell is ranked second in Australia to the world champion, J. Famechon. George fought the world junior light-weight champion, H. Kobayashi (Japan), in a non-title bout in January, losing on points.
