INDUSTRIES FAIR
Building To Be
Extended
The new building erected at Canterbury Court for last year’s New Zealand Industries Fair would be extended 6000 sq. ft for this year’s fair, said Mr E. J. Smith at a meeting of the Council of the Canterbury Manufacturers’ Association last evening. Mr Smith said the building would be used to house a food court. It would bring the total space to 40,000 sq. ft. Already two-thirds of the display space had been sold for the fair, which would run from August 21 to September 6.
The Minister of Industries and Commerce (Mr Marshall) would be asked to perform the official opening. This year all the entertainment at the fair would be organised by 3ZB.
