Snake Bites Boy In Bed

Dorian Gottani, aged eight, was asleep in his Queensland home when a lOft-long python dropped from the rafters on to h’3 bed and clamped its jaws on his foot. Dorian’s screams brought his parents rushing to the room, and while his mother grappled with the squirming snake his father prised open its jaws, freed the boy’s foot and shot the python through the head with a .22 rifle.

Dorian is recovering today in hospital in Ingham, North Queensland, where he and his family live on a sugarcane farm.
