United Kingdom cheese imports totalled 177,600 tons in 1968, an increase of 21,000 tons on 1967, according to the Meat and Dairy Produce Bulletin of the Commonwealth Secretariat Commonwealth supplies included the largest deliveries for some years from Australia and record receipts from Canada. New Zealand deliveries were lower with lighter receipts particularly in the last five months, after the British Minhiar for Agriculture. had appealed for voluntary restraint on the sending of supplies. Supplies received included: Australia, 14,958 tons (7945 in 1967); Canada, 18,960 (12,586); New Zealand, 73,556 (74,803); Denmark 10,734 (9137); France 9378 (8572); Irish Republic, 19,612 (16,119); Netherlands, 19,395 (15,310).
