Trevino won the SUSIOO,OOO Tucson Open byscoring a six-under-par 66 on the last round to give him a ‘total of 271 (17 under par) which equalled the touma'ment record set by R. J. I Charles in 1965. I The United States Open champion had a five-stroke Jead at the final round and ‘began to increase it almost immediately, taking five birdies on the front nine. His only bogey of the round game on the 460 yd, par-four tenth hole when he missed a 4ft putt. M. Barber, who led after the first round, was second with a 10-under 278. B. Yancey was third with 279. The Phoenix Open winner, G. Littler, D. Bies and E. Updegraff came in at 280, but Updegraff was disqualified when he failed to sign his card.
