Nelson Provincial Buildings
Sir, —It is most disturbing that the Crown is even considering demolition of this building as indicated in the article in “The Press” on February 22. The survival of this building is well justified on either of the grounds of architectural merit or historical interest. I cannot believe that there is no other land in Nelson for new courts other than the ground underneath this building. The Crown, having failed to maintain the exterior, now wishes to bulldoze a building that in almost any other country in the world would be greatly- revered. Money spent now would fall into the category of deferred maintenance and I strongly urge that the Crown restore and make weathertigbt the exterior. If the Crown has no further use for this building it should be handed back to
