Vegetable And Fruit Prices
There was generally little change in prices at the Christchurch produce markets yesterday. Cabbages which sold at 19c to 30c a case last week were up slightly to 50c a case, while dessert plums went from $1.50 to $3. The official range of prices supplied by the Christchurch Fruit and Vegetables Wholesalers’ Association was:— Marrows.—2oc to 30c a case. Silver Beet.—To 50c a case. Beetroot.—To 50c a ca«e. Pumpkins.—To *2 a case. Cabbages.—2oc to 50c a case. Carrots.—To $1.70 a case. Cauliflowers.—Boc to $1.30 a case. Onidns.—To $2.50 a sugar bag. Parsnips.—To $1.50 a box. Swedes.—To 50c a box. White Turnips.-JTb 30c a bex. Potatoes.—To $1 a case. Butternut Pumpkins.—To 13 a case. Tomatoes.—Bc to 16c a pound. Peaches.—Case, to $1.70; tray, sOc to 80c. Plums.—Cooking, 80c to $1; dessert, to W a case. Apricots.—To $3.10 a case. Greengages.—T6 $3 a case. Nectarines.—To $3 a ease.
