School Lacks Teachers
(From Our Own Reporter) CHATHAM ISLANDS, February 3. The biggest school on the Chathams, at Te One, near Waitangi, will not open for a week at least because of lack of teachers. The primary school at Te One with a roll of 110 pupils, had four teachers last year but only one is available at present. The smaller schools, at Owenga, Kaingaroa and on Pitt Island, began the school year yesterday. The Te One school committee decided not to open the school and informed the Education Department.
