PRISONERS ESCAPE
Four Youths At Large Four prisoners on remand from the Magistrate’s Court broke a window at Sunnyside Hospital and escaped at 10 p.m. yesterday. Police patrols were concentrated in the area of the hospital, and checks were made of places in Christchurch which the four have been known to frequent. The four are: Gerry Joseph Garrett, aged 20, slim build, sft sin, with black hair and hazel eyes. When last seen he was wearing blue jeans and a grey shirt. Robert Bruce Clark, aged 18, medium build, sft sin, with brown hair and blue eyes. He has crosses tattooed on each hand. When last seen, he was wearing a blue skivvy and blue jeans. Rex Allan Clarkson, aged 17, slim build, sft lOin, with brown hair and blue eyes. He has many scars. When last seen, he was wearing a white skivvy and blue jeans. Christopher John Emmerson, aged 16, slim build, sft 9in, with dark brown hair, which he wears long, and blue eyes. He has a scar in the centre of the forehead. When last seen, he was wearing a black shirt and blue jeans. All four at the time of their escape were wearing Beatle boots. The four have been charged with either burglary, theft, or the unlawful taking of motor-vehicles.
