SHARK BOUNTY

Increase To $3 (N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN, January 6. A third Dunedin firm has increased the bounty for sharks caught between Ocean Grove and St Clair beaches to $3 a foot. The original bounty offered by South Island Dry Cleaners was $2 and last week this was increased by another Dunedin firm to $2.50. An offer of 50c a foot has been made by Brown and Turners, Ltd. Mr E. A. Looser, the managing director of South Island Dry Cleaners, said today that $BO of the bounty remained before the offers would be reviewed. “We have paid out so far $2O for two 10ft sharks caught last week,” he said. “When $lOO has been paid out we will review the success of the bounty and decide whether to extend it and on what conditions.”
