New Hercules Accepted

(N.Z. Press Association)

WELLINGTON, Jan. 6. The Royal New Zealand Air Force has formally accepted two Lockheed Hercules, almost doubling the airlift capability of its Hercules fleet, says a statement issued by Lockheed today. The R.N.Z.A.F. bought three Hercules in 1965 as part of the first phase in its programme to modernise its transport aircraft. The New Zealand Air Attache in Washington (Group Captain S. M. Hope) accepted the aircraft from Lockheed.

Group Gaptain L. Seigert and 19 other New Zealand crew members left for New Zealand on Saturday. They are due in Auckland next Thursday after stops in California, Hawaii and the Fiji Islands.
