SEEKING REVENGE
West Indies XI Named (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) ADELAIDE. The West Indian cricket selectors yesterday announced a patch-work team for the return match against South Australia which will begin at the Adelaide Oval today. For the final match before the second test in Melbourne it is obvious the West Indies are trying to sort out their likely pace attack in view of the injury to C. C. Griffith. The fast bowlers against South Australia will be W. W. Hall and L. King, indicating that both these players are on trial for test selection. R. Edwards, who is not playing, lis considered nearly certain to play against the Austra- | lians. i However, the selectors ’caused a surprise by naming Griffith as thirteenth man, i although he is still under ; doctor’s orders to rest.
The West Indies team trying to avenge an earlier tour defeat by South Australia is: R. B. Kanhai (captain, S. Camacho, R. Fredericks, S. M. Nurse, B. Butcher, C. Lloyd, C. Davis, D. Holford, M. Finlay, Hall and King. J. Carew is twelfth man.
