Fairpay had the pace on right j from the start of her half-mile, i She took 49sec for the distance 1 and this time is rarely bettered ion the course proper. Fairpay j came her last three furlongs lin a dashing 35 3-ssec. She won | well at Wanganui and has obviously thrived since. Belgarah partnered Victory j Rose over six furlongs. They 1 kept together until the straight, where Belgarah drew’ away to I I win by a wide margin. The six 1 i furlongs took her Imin 17 3-ssec. the last three in 38 l-ssec. Bel l garah is improving all the time. Ina Court ran from Ihe six furlongs in Imin 20sec. the last three in 40sec. She has recovered from slight injuries she sustained al Woodville. Sweel Bourbon look 54sec for an easy half-mile, the last three furlongs in 401 sec. On the plough Aeolian and [ Gold Mint worked five furlongs i in Imin 6sec, the last three in 40sec. Aeolian failed at Otaki 1 but may now require more j ground.
