(N Z. Press Association) INVERCARGILL. Silver Spire, which is to make a fresh start at Wjngatui. worked in dashing style at~ Invercargill yesterday morning. In a solo run he reeled off five furlongs in 62sec, the last half-mile in 49sec, and revelled I in his task. Silver Spire has | not been long back with S. G. ;Shaw. but he has done plenty; I of strong work and is in great | order. i The course proper was open with the trestles 30ft. The track was hard and fast. Big Dipper. which hast thrived also since resuming’ with Shaw, showed he was' ?eady to make his presence I felt on the southern New Y’ear circuit when he dashed over! thalf a mile in 49 4-ssec, the Hast three furlongs in 36 4-ssec. I Bob’s Secret was doing better! (than Chango in running half a ; mile in 53 4-ssec. the last three furlongs in 40 l-ssec. Chango is to make a fresh start lin the Hazlett Gold Cup
