BOY TO GET AWARD

(N Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Dec. 17. Brian Clark, the 15-year-old boy who went to the assistance of a detective in a fight with a man in the Khandallah Reserve on Sunday, was likely to receive an award in recognition of his action, the Commissioner of Police (Mr G. C. Urquhart) said today. Brian has received a telegram from the Minister of Police (Mr Allen) commending his action. The telegram was sent on behalf of the Minister, the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) and the Government, Mr Urquhart said. Letters were to be sent today from the commissioner to Brian and to his nine-year-old companion, Archie Ransfield, who ran for police help.
