DEATH FROM CANCER
<NZ. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Dec. 15. New Zealand had the fifth lowest cancer death rate of 22 countries in 1966. About one in six (3841) deaths in New Zealand that year were caused by cancer, the Department of Health reports. The proportion for males at 15.6 per cent of total deaths was lower than the female proportion of 16.8 per cent. The figures show a slight decrease from those of 1965, when 16.1 per cent of male deaths and 17.3 per cent female deaths were caused by caneer. Cancer deaths increased by 686 between 1965 and 1966.
