(N.Z, Press Association) INVERCARGILL. A 47-year-old Southland farmer, Mr H. Hubber, cycled past the Invercargill Post Office at 7.22 a.m. on Saturday to break the official Christchurch. to Invercargill cycling record by nearly two hours. Riding a bicycle he made himself earlier this year, Mr Hubber left the Christchurch Chief Post Office at 11 a.m. on Friday. He rode without stopping until he reached Dunedin, where he stopped for 20 minutes to put on more clothes and have some tea. Mr Rubber s official time for the 365 miles of 20hrs 22min 40sec, was well inside J. Hargreaves’s 1950 record of 22hr 12 min 33sec. cash cyclist G. Lukey’s time of 21hr 58mtn 42 2-ssec in 1951, and Hubber’s 1943 time of 22hr 39min.
