Bedroom Damaged

While a family was picnicking at Glentunnel yesterday morning the children’s bedroom at their home was gutted by fire. Units from the St Albans and Harewood stations received a call to the house of Mr A. A. Rogers, 12 Hannah Place, Northcote, at 10.3 a.m. The firemen confined the damage to one room. Mr Hannah said last evening that the firemen had done a good job. A policeman had come to Glentunnel to inform them of the fire and he expected to find a good deal of water in his house. He was Pleasantly surprised to discover that the firemen had been able to extinguish the blaze without causing water damage to other rooms.
