Man Injured When Car Hits Tree

A broken jaw and facial injuries were suffered by Stephen Collin Fisher, of 31 Northcote Road, when a car struck a tree at the northern end of Cranford Street about 3 a.m. on Saturday. He was admitted to Burwood Hospital. Boy Injured.—After his cycle and a truck collided at the corner of New Brighton I and Wainoni Roads about 110.50 a.m. on Saturday, Kevin I Underway, of 515 New Brighi ton Road, was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital suffering from head injuries. Two Injured.—Christine Leigh Martin, of 8 Ladbrokes Place, was admitted to the Burwood Hospital suffering from head injuries after a motor-cycle and a car collided in Poulson Street about 1.5 a.m. on Saturday. Malcolm Charles Davies, of 16 Parlane Street, was treated at the Christchurch Hospital for head injuries. Wheel Fell Off.—A child suffered minor head injuries and bruising when she was thrown from a car when the front wheel fell off in Estuary Road on Saturday morning. She is Sandra Marie Leftly, aged two, of 51 Rockinghorse Road. She was treated at the casualty department of the Christchurch Hospital. The car was badly damaged. Car Wrecked.—When a car

failed to take a bend on the Main West Coast Road about 200 yards west of the West Melton Hotel on Saturday afternoon it rolled over and was wrecked. Victor Bilagden and Kevin Graham Miller, both of 201 Wordsworth Street, were treated at the Christchurch Hospital for cuts and abrasions.
