Dummies In Crash Tests

Sir,—“Dummy” awards me a prize for something I did not say. In all modesty I cannot accept. “Dummy” accuses me of criticising the use of dummies in experiments to measure the effects of collisions. I did not. Obviously this is a most sensible and effective way of finding out what happens. My only criticism was of the way in which the facts were presented in the television programmeusing the device of giving the dummies voices and letting them tell the story. As well as failing to comprehend what was written, “Dummy” has shown the weakness of his position by his sarcastic reference to my intelligence —the sort of personal attack that is often the last resort of the illogical.—Yours, etc., GARRY ARTHUR.
