Water Intake
There was no sign that the Waimakariri, in recent freshes, had changed its course so that the water-race intake could not be useu, the county engineer (Mr W. L. Bevis) reported to the Malvern County Council yesterday. The high river level had prevented the use of the intake, but ample water was available from other intakes to supply the county’s 1000 miles of water races.
