Rats are feasting on donated food in an Indian temple while scarcity deprives children of proper food, the Prime Minister (Mrs Indira Gandi) said today. About 110 pounds of Bhaja (coarse grain) were being offered daily to rats in a temple in the faminestricken district of Bikaner, Rajasthan, she told questioners in Parliament This was "unfortunate” while there was so much food scarcity in India, she said.
