(b) LECTURER/SENIOR LECTURER IN EXPLORATION GEOPHYSICS. Applicants should have both teaching and professional experience in exploration geophysics, particularly as related to electrical and seismic methods of study; they should also have interest in the application of geophysical techniques to the solution of hydrogeological and sulphide mineralisation problems. Salary:—Lecturer $5400 - x $270 - $7300 per annum; Senior Lecturer $7600 • x 230 - $8750 per annum. Ward and Dr P. Collinson has recently been appointed to a Chair of History. The Professors of History are to arrange between themselves to share responsibilities for teaching and the organisation of work in the Department of History. Salary will be at the range of $12,000 per annum. There Is retirement provision under either the Sydney University Professorial Superannuation Scheme or the New’ South Wales State Superannuation Scheme. Under the staff Members’ Housing Scheme, in cases approved by the University and its Bankers, members of staff may be assisted by loans to purchase a house. Salary will be within the range $lBBB-82584 per annum. Responsibilities will include the operation and day to day maintenance of the JEM-7A electron microscope and auxiliary equipment, and the preparation of metallurgical micro specimens. Previous experience would be an advantage, but is not essential, and a knowledge of electronics is not required. Appropriate training will be provided where necessary.
