TREAT FOR ELDERLY

About 200 elderly persons from eight homes in Christchurch will spend this afternoon at the Ferrymead Historic Park, where they will be able to ride on the steam tram or double-decker trailer. They will also be given afternoon tea. The outing has been arranged as a Christmas treat before the park is opened to the public on Sunday afternoon. Every thing will be free and buses of Mount Cook and Southern Lakes Services will take the elderly persons to and from the park. There will also be about 70 blind children at the park at the same time.
