There was a decrease iti the number of illnesses reported to the Canterbury faculty of the College of General Practitioners for the two months ended November 30, but there were increases in the number of diarrhoea and vomiting and staphylococcal infections in adults The diarrhoea and vomiting cases were mild, occurred in persons of all ages and lasted from one to two days. Respiratory infections also affected all ages but mainly children, and the symptoms were high temperature, cough and muscular aching for about a week. One case of typhi murium was reported and tonsillitis and staphylococcal throat infections were common.
