Prices Raised In Hong Kong

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) HONG KONG, Dec. 11. Tourists visiting Hong Kong after January 1 next year will have to pay more for their hotel accommodation. Hotels in Hong Kong are raising their charges by 15 to 20 per cent. Mr John Foote, who recently retired as chairman of the Hong Kong Hotels’ Association said Hong Kong hotels “will still be a bargain.” The association today warned the hotels against raising their rates, saying similar measures taken in other countries had “priced themselves out of the tourist market.”
