Church Worker To Make Trip

The assistant generalsecretary of the National Council of Churches (the Rev. R. M. O’Grady) will spend a month overseas at the beginning of next year, visiting Indonesia, Saigon, Beirut, Geneva and the I United States. | He will leave New Zealand (on January 18 for Indonesia where he will spend a week attending a meeting of the working committee of the East Asia Christian Conference. Mr O'Grady, who represents Australia and New ZeaI land on this committee, is one of five members. He will then visit Saigon for a few days to discuss the proposal to bring South Vietnamese orphans to New Zealand. Mr O’Grady said that the delay had been mainly because the scheme had not got off the ground in Saigon. His next stop will be Beirut where he will discuss the United Nations refugee programme before travelling to Geneva for three days to the headquarters of the World Council of Churches. Before returning to New Zealand on February 18, Mr O’Grady will spend 10 days in the United States. As well as attending a meeting of the World Convention of Christian Churches in St Louis, he will give addresses in several places.
