MUNICH GAMES

Ban On Flag Reconsidered 1 rN.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) BONN, Dec. 12. 1 West Germany has indicated her readiness to make an exception to her 19-year-old ban on the flying of the ' East German national flag on her territory during the 1972 Olympic Games, to be held in Munich. Earlier, the East German Communist Party newspaper, “Neues Deutschland” had accused West Germany of having no intention of honouring promises made to the International Olympic Committee two years ago, when Munich was awarded the Games. ■West Germany does not officially recognise the divi-i sion of Germany or the existence of East Germany as a State, and the flying of the East German flag in West Germany is banned. A Bonn Government spokesman said today, however: “The view has been expressed within the Cabinet that the Olympic Games should be treated as an isolated case.”
