Premiere For Charity

Marching girls and a band will form a procession from Cathedral Square to the Odeon Theatre for the opening of the charity premiere showing of “Oliver!” next Thursday.

The Band of the 2nd Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment will play for a display of marching by two teams about 7.15 p.m. outside the Bank of New Zealand building. At 7.30 p.m. they will march behind a large banner to the theatre, and continue the display until the arrival of the Mayor (Mr A. R. Guthrey). The St Barnabas’ Church boys’ choir will sing carols on the steps of the theatre until the procession arrives, and sing a carol as the Mayor enters the theatre.

The proceeds of the premiere will be presented to the president of the Cholmondeley Home (Mr P. N. G. Blaxall) before the performance.
