Community Education

<N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN, Dec. 13. “Interview,” a plan for community education, will be launched throughout New Zealand next year by a combined effort of the National Council of Churches and the Roman Catholic Church. “Interview” will conduct, in close co-operation with many service organisations, an intensive course of discussions in local groups through the country, beginning next June. The theme of the programme will be: “How to Live in the 19705.” It will be an attempt to help New Zealanders face their situation, and to suggest direction* in which the country might move. Problems such as the growth of city life, interracial relationships, the gap between generations, the place of the Government, and New Zealand's place in the world will be discussed. A spokesman for “Interview,” the Rev. R. McGrostie, of Dunedin, said today that the aim was to implement the broad plan by involving as many local groups as possible. “Already in Otago and Southland we have organised the training of staff to handle more than 10,000 people in 1000 groups,” Mr McGrostie said.
