Party May Be Banned
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright> BONN, Dec. 12. The West German Interior Minister, Ernst Benda, will recommend a ban on the extreme right-wing National Democratic Party at next week’s Cabinet meeting, Government sources said tonight. The Cabinet would then decide whether the Government should make a formal application to the Federal Constitutional Court in Karlsruhe.
Earlier, the West German News Agency reported the Interior Ministry intended to apply to the Constitutional Court for a ban on the party. But the Ministry spokesman said tonight: “Whether such an application is made will depend on the Cabinet’s decision. I cannot anticipate what the Cabinet will do.”
