ELECTION OF COMMITTEE

Akaroa Town Members The advisory members of the Akaroa County Town Committee were elected for a three-year term at a meeting of electors at Akaroa on Tuesday night. Those elected were Messrs M. Brown, R. Davis, A. W. Ericson, D. W. C. McCormick, H. J. R. Nee, and J. S. Truman. The unsuccessful candidates were Mrs D. A. Harrison and Messrs A. F. Helps and D. E. Wright. Mr Davis was a member of the previous committee, and Mr McCormick was its chairman as the Akaroa riding member of the Akaroa County Council. He was defeated for this seat at the elections on October 12, and the new committee chairman probably will be Mr W. A. Habgood, the town councillor. Eighty-two persons were present at the meeting, and the election was confirmed by county councillors present.
