Claim Against Film Star
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) PARIS, November 9. A Swiss film company has claimed almost SNZ6OO.OOO damages from the Italian film star. Sophia Loren, because she failed to make a film for them in 1958.
The company, Quadrangle Films, told a Paris civil court Miss Loren had been under contract to make a film to be called “Five Pieces of Mari,” with the American, Danny Kaye.
The film had to be abandoned, they said, when Miss Loren refused to star in the role in the form offered to her and no compromise agreement could be reached. Lawyers for Miss Loren denied she had broken the contract. They said that under one of its clauses she had the right to a say in the form the scenario should take.
