PERFORMANCE TESTING, particularly with regard to wool, has brought a marked improvement in Australian Merino flocks. For many years now, stud flocks have been able to avail themselves of a wool measurement service, which assists breeders to select the best yielding rams. These Merinos, photographed at last year’s Sydney Sheep Show, were Competing for the Stonehaven Cup, the most coveted award in the group classes.
