Dr A. Fischer, a reader in chemistry at the University of Canterbury, has resigned to take up a post as professor of organic chemistry at the University of Victoria. British Colombia. He will leave for Canada in January with his wife and three children.
Dr Fischer completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees and his doctorate at the University of Canterbury. He spent a year as a research fellow at the California Institute of Technology in 1961. and was a Nuffield fellow at the University of Sussex in 1966-67.
