Sir,—l and many other Christchurch residents fully support the spokesman for the New Zealand Clean Air Society in saying that he objected to equipment being accepted which had been designed without environmental pollution being sufficiently considered. Every day these jet aircraft insult the New Zealand atmosphere with their black trails. It has been said that we will soon become used to this sight, yet can we condone an apparent mistake in choice of aircraft engine by a national corporation when we compare these belching Pratt and Whitney engines with the powerful and clean - burning Rolls - Royce units’— Yours, etc..
