From League To Golf
The captains of seven of the eight senior Rugby league clubs in Canterbury will renew their rivalry off the football field when they take part in the Marist-West-em Suburbs club’s annuel golf tournament at Templeton on December 1.
A spokesman for the club said yesterday that only the Papanui captain C. R. Schwass who was recently injured in an accident at his employment, would not be able to take part. The 196M8 Kiwi ar.d Papanui vice-captain. J. G. Clarke, will deputise for Schwass. The Marist-Western Suburbs club is also hopeful that leading golfers would take part as M. Roesink, the Dutch professional, did during his tour of the New Zealand circuit last year.
