M.P.s Boycott Celebration
(N Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Nov. 7. Government and Opposition members boycotted a reception here today ,to celebrate the fifty-first anniversary of the Bolshevik Revolution. The Russian Minister to New Zealand (Mr B. Y. Dorofeev) proposed a toast to the Queen and the New Zealand people at the reception at the Soviet Legation. Members of other overseas missions, including the Charge d’Affairs of the Czechoslovak Legation (Mr J. Matous) were present. Because of the recent Russian invasion of Czechoslovakia the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) decided the Government would not attend. The Opposition followed his lead.
