TEACHER ON 10 CHARGES

AUCKLAND, Nov. 7.
A probationary schoolteacher, Gordon Buchanan Cumming, aged 22, pleaded guilty to eight charges of burglary when he appeared before Mr C. E. H. Pledger, SAI., in the Auckland Magistrate’s Court today. Cumming also pleaded guilty to one charge of theft as a servant and one charge of theft
Sergeant T. B. Wallace said Cumming broke into eight buildings between March 28 and October 11. He stole a tape recorder from the Auckland Education Board, and while working for Henry Berry, Ltd, during May he stole food.
Restitution totalled $592, Sergeant Wallace said. On several of the offences Cumming was accompanied by a friend.
Cumming was remanded to November 14 for sentence.
