CUP HORSES TO RACE
Thirteen of the 14 acceptor, for next Tuesday’s New Zealand Cup are down to compete in the A. L. Matson Handicap at trials to be held late this afternoon at Addington Raceway. The race will be run at 4.30 p.m. and It will be the sixth event and first leg of the second equallsator double _The field tn the A. L. Matson Handicap will line up on their cup marks, with Humphrey being handicapped on six yards and Allakasam and Great Adlos on 24 yards. The nine-race programme, which will finish at 8 p.m.. has attracted most of the horses engaged at the cup meeting, and performances will be watcbed with Interest.
Final training for the cup horses will be at Addington Raceway on Sunday morning. This session, which usually attracts up to 5000 spectators, is run between 9 and 11 a.m.
Drivers usually wear colours and a brief description of the horses Is given by the club’s commentator, Mr D. B. Clackson.
