PROTEST IN LISBON

Police armed with batons yesterday dispersed 200 students protesting against the imprisonment for political reasons, of a student who has since died. The students marched on the Central Square of Commerce, shouting “Assassins, assassins,” but dispersed quickly when police appeared. An official communique had said that the dead student, Daniel Campos de Sousa Teixeira, aged 23, died in hospital after an attack of asthma, an ailment he had suffered since he was 11.—Lisbon, November 1.
