Rajah Sahib Wins

fN.Z.P.A. Staff Correspondent) MELBOURNE. Rajah Sahib, the New Zealandbred colt which failed in last week’s A.J.C. Derby, registered his first Australasian win in the *15,000 Caulfield Guineas at Caulfield on Saturday. Revelling in the going, which was much softer than he had experienced in Sydney, the Pakistan II colt had the run of the race, and came away over the final stages in great style to win by a length. The Victorian colt, Crewman, was second, with the New Zea-land-bred Goree King, a short half head away third. His trainer, T. Hill, said after the race that Rajah Saib would probably miss next Saturday’s Caulfield Cup, and tackle the W.F.A Cox Plate at Moonee Valley a week later, before running in the V.R.C. Derby the next Saturday.
