Police Swoop On Students (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) SAO PAULO (Brazil), Oct. 13. Police swooped on a farm near Sao Paulo yesterday and arrested about 1200 students said to have been holding -n illegal meeting. Among those arrested was the student leader, Mr Vladimir Palmeira, aged 23, a former president of the banned Metropolitan Students’ Union. The Federal Supreme Court freed Palmeira three weeks ago after he had spent 46 days in army detention. Stockholm March.—More than 1000 people marched through the centre of the Swedish capital today to express solidarity with the Mexican students’ “battle for justice.” The march, organised by the Swedish Committee for Latin America, passed without incident.—Stockholm October 13.
