Dorflinger N.I. Winner (N.Z. Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH A New Plymouth competitor R. Dorflinger, took first place In the slalom and was the second New Zealander to finish in the giant slalom to win the North Island men’s skl-ing championship at the week-end. Dorflinger, runner-up when the championships were last held on Mount Egmont, lost only 12.8 points over the two events; his nearest rival, D. John (Stratford), lost 34.6. The women’s title went to Miss M. Blakely (Auckland), whose superior skill and overseas experience won her both events. She has held the title since 1965.
