$3m Office Building
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Sept. 15. Work is expected to begin almost, immediately on a s3m, 17-storey building for the State Insurance Office at Auckland. The Government approved the acceptance of a tender from Downer and Company, Ltd, on Friday, for the erection of the building. It will be on the corner of Wakefield Street and Rutland Street and will also have frontage on Lome Street. It will be 240 feet high. The Minister In Charge of the State Insurance Office (Mr Rae) said the construction was expected to take two years and a half.
