No special field of study is demanded, but preference may be given to candidates who are primarily interested in either 20th Century literature or linguistics. He or she will be required to conduct lectures and practical demonstrations in the theory and practice of physiotherapy, as well as to supervise students’ practical work with patients. (October 3.) SENIOR DEMONSTRATOR IN THE COMPUTER CENTRE Applicants are required to have a degree in Science or Engineering, or equivalent qualifications, and considerable experience in computer programming. The appointee will undertake under direction the development of programmes and programming systems for the University’s PDP 10 and GE 225 computer systems. He will also assist with the practical work carried out in courses, including the post-graduate Diplomas in Automatic Computing and Information Processing The University will provide training in appropriate coding and programming methods, and the successful applicant will have the opportunity for further studies. The aim of the course, which is the first of its kind in New Zealand, is to encourage higher standards in the press and in current affairs broadcasting. The course will be open to graduates in any discipline. While experience In a newspaper office or broadcasting organisation would be an advantage, it is not a pre-requi-site. A particularly weill qualified applicant may be appointed at the grade of Associate Professor at a salary within the range of 36600 to $7OOO per annum. Consideration may be given to the appointment of a recent graduate at the grade of Assistant Lecturer. Under the direction of the Head of the Preventive Department, the successful applicant would assist in the teaching of undergraduate and graduate students, and in research.
