Rlccarton Road) FESTIVAL OF TREES GARDEN COMPETITION Entries are Invited for a Garden Competition to be conducted as part of the Festival of Trees being held during the week, 12th to 19th October, 1968. The Competition will be conducted In three classes: (1) New Gardens gardens and buildings five years and under in age. (2) Small Gardens gardens with an area of 32 perches and under. (3) Large Gerdens any garden with an area of 33 perches and over. Other than the restriction as to class, there are no other conditions. Three qualified Judges will assess the gardens during the weekend sth to 6th October, 1968. Results will be announced and prizes awarded during the Festival. Marks will be allotted as follows: Design and Layout ..., <O% Trees 30% Lowns Feetures (water, paths, fences, etc.) .... 10% Cultivation and Maintenance 10% Entries close 4 p.m. on Friday, 27th September, 1968, with the Secretary, Christchurch Beautifying Association, 91 Woodham Road, Christchurch 6, or Telephone 899-352. There is no entry fee. The Competition is being conducted on behalf of The Festival of Trees and the Christchurch Civic Trust by the Christchurch Beautifying Association.
